Pvt. Ren was killed by a gun shot wound in the back of his head.He was iniitally buried as Unknown X-288 and was identified on 27 March 1945 by comparison of fingerprints.
He was disinterred on 18 November 1947 and his remains were prepared and placed in a casket the same day. He was given his final resting place on 3 August 1948.
