Maj Charles G. Davis enlisted into the Army Air Corps as a Aviation Cadet on 3 October 1941.

On his application it states that he had 4 years of college with civil occupation as architect. His Niece, Carol Davis Moss, states that he attended UC Berkeley and then enlisted in the Army Air Force when WWII began. He became a navigator and attained the rank of Major. He was killed in a bombing raid over Belgium, the only one in the crew to die. Major Davis was badly wounded by flak burst. Col Harris made an emergency landing at Brussels but Major Davis had died.
