T/5 Robert B. Lockey graduated from Cortland High School where he was active in music and theater.

He enlisted in Binghamton, New York on 28 June 1943 and was sent overseas in October 1944.

Cpl Lockey is remembered at the Truxton Rural Cemetery in Truxton, Cortland County, New York.
