S/Sgt Robert A. Mullins graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1933 where he was a football star and was a member of the drama club. He attended Marshall University for three yearsHe volunteered for the Army of the United States in Camden, New Jersey on 21 July 1942.
He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for bravery during the Normandy campaign.
S/Sgt Robert A. Mullins was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery of Molenhoek in the Netherlands.
His brother Sam served with the Marine Corps in the Pacific.
