Pfc Robert L. Wilson enlisted at Camp Blanding, Florida on 20 November 1942.

He was killed after the Waal River crossing.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Molenhoek, the Netherlands and reburied at American Cemetery Margraten on 18 April 1949 as requested by W. Earl Brown.
