Pfc Leroy E. Cartmill graduated from Carter High School and worked on a farm.He enlisted at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, on 21 March 1944 and was sent overseas in December 1944.
He was killed when he parachuted into Drop Zone W during Operation Varsity.
