Lawrence Elmore was a truck builder in an automobile factory when he joined the National Guard in February 1941.B Company and the Reconnaissance Platoon supported the 505th Parachute Infantry in an attack from 7 January to 10 January. During this action, the company lost to M-36 tank destroyers due to anti-tank fire.
Most likely Sgt Elmore was one of the eight mortal causalties.
