Pfc Rufus J. T. Woodruff enlisted at Fort Jackson Columbia, North Carolina on 2 October 1943. He trained at Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Camp Blanding, Florida and Fort Meade, Maryland and joined his unit from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on 14 December 1944.
