T/3 Jack Miller enlisted on 2 October 1940. He volunteered for the paratroopers on 10 December 1942 and was sent overseas in December 1943.A letter from the chaplain of an evacuation hospital to his family reads: "It is my sad duty to inform you that your son, Tech-3 Jack Miller, passed away in our hospital early this morning. He was thrown from a moving jeep on June 6, and brought to us in an unconscious state, from which he never recovered."
