Pfc Allen E. Korte worked with his father on the farm until he was inducted into the service on July 19, 1944.

According to the 345th history ..."The balance of the Second and Third Battalions moved up and occupied the wooded area west of Neuenstein. From here the companies fanned out to the east, north and south"

He is remembered at the Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska.
