Pvt Joe S. Esquibel was a farmer. He enlisted in Santa Fe, New Mexico on 25 September 1944.
The history of the 11th Cavalry Group mentions the loss of a M-24 tank of the 36th Squadron to enemy 88 mm gun fire on 2 April 1945. Since no other losses are reported for that day, it can be assumed that Pvt Esquibel was one of the casualties.
