More information

T/5 Raymond H. Muir worked on the Vermont Highway until he enlisted on 11 March 1941.

He was engaged to be married to Gladys E. Chadwick. He looked forward to the day when he could return home to Vermont and start a new life with his future wife and their future children.

He was sent overseas in February 1944.

In the words of his mother written to the War Department, "He requested that if he was to die overseas, he wished to be buried over there."
