2nd Lt Jerald J. Porter graduated from Dellville High School and attended Kansas State College in Manhattan, Kansas where he was a captain of the Wildcat wrestlers team. He was a member of Acacia fraternity at this school. He received training in the Reserve Officers Training Corps in 1942.
