1st Lt Harold N. Davis was graduated from Pawling High School and attended Syracuse University prior to enlisting at Camp Upton Yaphank, New York on 13 March 1942. He trained at Camp Polk, Louisiana, after which he attended Officer Candidate school at Fort Belvoir and in Baltimore.
