Lt Edgar A. Greve Jr. attended the University of Missouri for three years.He enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 16 October 1942 and received training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Before he was sent overseas, he was stationed at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas.
He married Helen Stubbs on 12 February 1944 in Kirkwood. After the marriage, the couple lived in Fort Smith to be near his post.
