Pfc Stephen A. Klepeiss enlisted in Fort George G. Meade, Maryland on 26 March 1942 and was sent overseas in Fabruary 1944.He was reported wounded in action by small arms fire in September 1944 and discharged from hospital a month later. For this wound he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time.
