Pfc Jack R. Edwards attended college for one year and was a skilled pattern and model maker before he enlisted at Camp Blanding, Florida on 9 September 1943. He was sent overseas in October 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand Failly, France.
