Pfc Dee H. Collins enlisted in Sacramento, California on 21 October 1941.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand Failly, France.

His brother Jerome W. Collins died in a Japanese prison camp from a stomach disorder a year after he was captured at Corregidor. He is buried at the American Military Cemetery of Manilla.
