1st Lt Charles J. Buysse graduated from Annunciation High School in Detroit and attended Michigan College of Mining and Technology in Houghton.He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Detroit, Michigan on 24 January 1942.
He died of injuries, suffered in a motor vehicle accident.
His grandfather, Louis Buysse, was born in Belgium.
