More information
Pfc Van Dorn was killed when a large caliber shell landed in a foxhole in which he had taken cover. A search of the shell crater and surrounding area, made after the explosion took place, failed to reveal any trace of his remains. A field investigation in November 1946 had no result either.Source of information: Leo Minne, Raf Dyckmans, Terry Hirsch, www.abmc.gov, www.ancestry.com – Kansas City and County Records, www.findagrave.com, IDPF
