Pfc John F. Stahler attended high school for four years and worked in a machine shop before he enlisted at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland on 5 June 1941. He was sent overseas on 23 April 1944.
He died of wounds in the neck caused by artillery shell and blast fragments.
