T/S Myrlen L. McNealey attended Franklin High School for two years, attended City High School and graduated from Cotopaxi Colorado High School. He was a structural and ornamental metal worker before he volunteered for the Army of the United States in Pueblo, Colorado on 29 June 1942. He was sent overseas on 27 July 1944.

He died from injuries caused when he was crushed.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.

The common spelling of his name is McNealy.
