Pfc Raymond S. Cannavan attended high school for four years before he joined the U.S. Army Reserve at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 12 November 1943 and he went overseas in October 1944.

He is also remembered at the Clarksburg Cemetery in Clarksburg, Berkshire County, Massachusetts.
