Capt Paul T. Hayes graduated from Ipswich High School in 1927 and Bowdoin College in 1931. He graduated from Tufts Medical College and practiced medicine as a member of the staff at Milford Hospital.He enlisted in the Medical Corps in January 1944 and was sent overseas in July 1944.
Capt Hayes was killed by small arms fire.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Champigneul, France.
