Sidney W. Irven was a welder at Berger Steel.He volunteered for the Army of the United States at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio on 1 February 1942. He attended parachute training schools in Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was sent overseas in August 1943 and was a veteran of D-Day in France.
Pvt Irven was initially buried at the Temorary American Military Cemetery of Son, The Netherlands.
