Pfc Luther M. Schmidt was employed at the Imperial Ice Cream Company before he enlisted in August 1943. He was sent overseas in March 1944.He is remembered at the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, Garrett, Maryland.
His brother, Henry A. Schmidt, is buried at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Belgium.
