Pfc Joseph Nugent volunteered for the Army of the United States in Boston, Massachusetts on 1 April 1942.He was reported missing in action on 17 December 1944 near Medelsheim and died in a hospital on 11 January 1945.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Champigneul, France.
