Pfc Charles H. Moore enlisted in Huntington, West Virginia on 16 October 1942. He had been overseas for eight months.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Solers, France.

Since 31 March 2025, the I-79 Interstate Bridge, locally known as the Little Sandy Creek Bridge, near Elkview, West Virginia is called the Pfc Charles Henry Moore Memorial Bridge.
