Sgt Roland W. Fecteau volunteered for the Army of the United States on 7 October 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts and was sent overseas in December 1943.He participated in the D-Day operation on 6 June 1944, during which he was reported missing in action for a while. After a few days, he rejoined his unit.
