Cpl Frank C. Dovedytis worked at the Okonite plant of Hazard Insulated Wire Works before he enlisted at Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on 28 July 1942.

Cpl Dovedytis was with a group of soldiers who attacked a farm held by German troops. Cpl Dovedytis was shot in the neck. A member of the resistance force saw Dovedytis wounded in a ditch. A little later, another resistance force member saw Dovedytis dead.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Solers, France.

The picture is of a monument in Mitri-Mory in honor for the liberation of the town.
