Pfc Daniel E. Bridges enlisted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 15 January 1941.He was married to Aileen Crawley on 3 September 1942
During an unsuccessful attack on Drusenheim made on 10 February 1945, Pfc Bridges was seen to step on a land mine, which inflicted severe wounds. He could not be evacuated before his company was forced back. Although medics, attached to his company, deemed Pfc Bridges' wounds undoubtedly fatal, he was initially listed as missing in action. Nobody was ever recovered by L Company and he has not been identified to this day.
