Sgt Walter S. Clark was a chauffeur before he joined the National Guard in Brockton, Massachusetts on 16 January 1941.

Sgt Clark was wounded on 17 April when the tank destroyer of which he was an occupant was struck by an enemy Panzerfaust. He died two days later. Two other crew members, Cpl David Paiz, who is also buried at Margraten, and Pfc Gilbert Borel, who is remembered at the Walls of the Missing, were killed.
