Pfc Bernard A. Zettner attended high school for two years. He had been employed as a bartender at Dick and Al's tavern and also worked for J.L. Jacobs Company.

He entered the Service from Michigan and was sent overseas in August, 1944. He was wounded in his face and eyes in September, 1944 in France and hospitalized in England.
