T/Sgt Frank A. Johnson enlisted in Camp Dodge Herrold, Iowa, on 25 March 1943.

He attended two years of college and worked in laundering, cleaning, drying, and pressing apparel and other articles before he enlisted.

The plane he was in was shot down by German fighters over Papa, Hungary.

T/Sgt Johnson was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery St. Avold, France, Block 4-K, Row 9, Grave 212.
