Pfc Glen E. Watson attended four years of high school. He enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 1 June 1944.

Per John H Herion, Regimental Chaplain in letter to Pfc Watson's parents: "While crossing the Saale River near Grossbockedra, Germany, the assault boat in which Glenn was crossing, capsized and he with three other si the boat were drowned. Your son was recovered for the Saale River and was buried in Our America Military Cemetery in Margraten, Holland with war time military honors and appropriate religious rites by a protestant chaplain in according to his recorded preferences."
