Pvt Harry Stone was employed as a doorman.He enlisted at Fort Jay, New York, on 14 August 1942. At that time, he wasn't yet an American citizen but still held the Norwegian nationality.
His Norwegian name was Håkon Asbjørn Skjølsvik. He called himself Harry Stone because it's easier to pronounce.
