Pvt Anton C. Simon enlisted in Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 4 August 1944.He grew up on the family farm and had earned the family nickname of 'Beaner'. Upon enlistment he had completed 4 years of high school where he was on the 1943 football team.
Pvt Simon was killed by a sniper.
