Pfc Archie N. Nail enlisted on 14 December 1942. He trained at Camp Howze and Camp Claibourne, La., before going overseas. He arrived in England in October 1944 and was a member of the Medics first aid line. Archie Nail had a host of friends in Jones County where he had lived most of his life. He was born in Arkansas, and after coming to Jones County, lived in communities near Anson, Carlton and Dovie.
