Pvt Joseph M. Monford moved from Canada to the USA. He arrived together with his mother and brother in Detroit, Michigan on 10 May 1940. His father died in 1910 in Ontario, Canada.He enlisted in november 1943 and was sent overseas in August 1944.
Pvt Monford was reported wounded in action two days before he died.
