George Adams graduated from Oconto High School and attended college.

He enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on 23 September 1942.

The airplane was violently attacked by enemy fighters in the area of Magdeburg. It was last seen as it left the formation, on fire.

Eight crew members survived and were taken prisoner, and two men were killed.
