More information

S/Sgt James S. Gere graduated from Central High School in 1933. He worked with his father at Gere Service station repairing automobiles.

He enlisted on 17 January 1941 and participated in the camapigns in North Africa and Sicily before he was sent to Northern Europe.

He was killed by a sniper fire during a watch that he had offered to take over from a comrade.
