Pfc Lyle W. Evans graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1937 and was a baker at Bishop's Cafetaria for six years.

He enlisted at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 20 July 1944 and was sent overseas on 1 January 1945.
