1st Lt James M. Willis graduated from Western High School and of Columbus University. He was widely known as a boxer here and was a member of the Columbus Boxing Team from 1937 to 1940. He was admitted to the bar and was a member of the legal staff of the National Manufacturer's Association.He was a clerk before he enlisted in Richmond, Virginia on 6 May 1941.
1st Lt James M. Willis is remembered at the National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church VA.
