Pfc Casmir A. Klamut enlisted at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio on 26 March 1942. He participated in the African, Sicilian and Italian campaigns. During the invasion in North Africa he was reported missing. Hanging in his parachute, the wind had blown him away and he ended up with a unit of Canadian troops.
