Pvt Edward B. Mc Cann graduated from Altoona High School with the class of 1940. He worked as a painter in the Pennsylvania railroad car shops department.He enlisted in Altoona, Pennsylvania on 3 August 1942 and saw action in North Africa, Sicily, Ireland, England and Normandy.
His father, a marine veteran of World War 1, died in 1926.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Molenhoek, the Netherlands.
