More information

S/Sgt Rybin joined 'A' in May, 1943 after serving for more than a year at the Fort Leavenworth, Kansas Reception Center as a sergeant. Although not trained for field services he rapidly adapted himself to the work of the troop and soon was one of the outstanding non commissioned officers. A quiet, efficient, dependable man was popular by seniors and subordinates alike. In all his work he distinguished himself and in combat often demonstrated his ability as a leader and soldier .

During the Battle of the Bulge he spent four days behind enemy lines and rejoined the troop only after a hectic cross country march during which time he assisted leading a patrol back to the American lines. In all his work as in his death Sgt Rybin was superior soldier.
