S/Sgt Cecil E. Brown enlisted in Richmond, Virginia on 10 October 1942.He was severely wounded in action on 8 August 1944 and evacuated to the 34th Evacuation Hospital that was operating in Verdun, France at the time of his death. However, it is not clear that S/Sgt Brown died in this hospital, so it is possible that he died in antoher facility.
