Albert Clarence Mack attended Immaculate Conception High School and worked in a paper mill.He enlisted on 26 April 1941 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He was selected for Officer's Candidate School and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in June of 1943. He joined his unit on 15 July 1944.
He was lightly wounded in action on 23 July 1944 for which he was awarded one of his Purple Heart Medal. After recovering he rejoined his unit.
