S/Sgt Claude M. Davis volunteered for the Air Corps 14 September 1942 in Buffalo, New York.Flak had caused fire in the right wing. The #2 propeller broke off and the #3 propeller had to be feathered. Also the #4 propeller was damaged.
Eight crew members bailed out and were taken prisoner. Two men were killed.
